Dr Simone Pitman

Professional biography

I am the Senior Teaching Manager in the School of Life, Health and Chemical Sciences within the STEM Faculty at the Open University.
After completing a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and Physics, followed by a PhD in Laser Physics at the University of Keele, I joined the OU in 1993 initially working on a HEfCE-funded Teaching and Learning Technology Programme project developing a range of maths and physics teaching materials for use throughout the HE sector.

Since 1995 I have worked on a variety OU science qualifications and modules, covering chemistry, analytical sciences and health sciences related curriculum. I have also worked on the Postgraduate Medicinal Chemistry provision at the OU since 1998.

Teaching interests

Currently I work on the presentations of the postgraduate medicinal chemistry taught modules S807 Molecules in Medicine and S827 Concept to Clinic.
