Professional biography

Radka Gromnicova is a technician working in the Electron Microscopy Suite. She works with OU students, academics and external customers helping them analyse their sample using electron microscopy.

Radka believes that speed, quality and communication is crucial to the process of taking a “raw” sample and finding out more about it.

She has experience of sample preparation for transmission electron microscopy and operating the microscope in advanced imaging or determining elemental composition. Her specialization is in the biological samples and nanoparticle preparations. Moreover, she is also involved in supervising a PhD student.

Radka also holds a PhD in biological sciences, her thesis was titled “Gold nanoparticles as a delivery system of oligonucleotides into the brain.” During her PhD she gained experience in cell culture, histology and nanomaterial preparation.
