Dissertation title: A population assessment of Pinna nobilis around the Greek island of Lipsi and the effects of covariates on environmental DNA dynamics.
During my bachelor’s degree, my main areas of interest were around microbiology and ecology. My research, as part of astrobiologyOU, will focus around “understanding the limits of microbial life” and will utilise cutting edge molecular techniques, as well as modelling approaches, to understand how microbes have evolved to thrive under some of the most extreme conditions on Earth. I aim to contribute to the understanding of how microbes may be able to survive elsewhere in the solar system and beyond.
