The OpenScience Laboratory

The OpenScience Laboratory launched, in 2013 with funding from the Wolfson Foundation, provides an authentic sense of place with access to real data through authentic interfaces.

  • Hosts over 100 practical science engagements with on-screen instruments, remote access equipment, citizen science platforms and virtual scenarios.

  • Includes scaffolded activities suitable for preuniversity students.

  • Provides more than 100,000 student hours per annum of timetabled practical investigations for Open University students.

  • New activities regularly added.

  • Includes a diverse range of experiments ranging from virtual microscopes to remotely controlled auto-titrators.

a very nice experience...they prepare us in our future possible science career....it is not possible often to travel to other science institutes for their work so they need to have this remote experience...so yes for me it's cool.
