Professional biography

I am a first-year postgraduate student in the School of Physical Sciences at the Open University, funded by the STFC and OU. My PhD research focusses on the stratigraphy of Arabia Terra, Mars. It is extremely important to understand the stratigraphy of this area, as it has been chosen as the landing site for ESA's ExoMars rover, launching in 2020. My work will aim to understand the diverse geology of this ancient and complex area of the red planet, by examining the regional distribution of the stratigraphy and geomorphology. I am active in both the Planetary Environments Research Group (SPS), and the Palaeoenvironments Research Group (EEES).

Prior to embarking on a PhD with the Open University, I completed an MSc by Research with the Southeast Asia Research Group at Royal Holloway, University of London, where I conducted a successful multi-proxy sedimentary provenance study into the Oligocene sediments of the Central Myanmar Basin. Before this, I completed a BSc in Geology at Royal Holloway.
