Professional biography

I was a PhD research student (2017 to 2021), supervised by Dr Katja Rietdorf and Dr Martin Bootman in the department of Life, Health and Chemical Sciences. My research was focused on the study of CLN3 (Juvenile Batten) disease. I used techniques such as fluorescence microscopy to investigate organelle activity and signalling in living cell models of the disease.

After graduating from BSc Biomedical Sciences in 2012, I began working full time in industry and studying part time for an MSc through The Open University, which I was awarded in 2015. My previous employment includes Method Development and QC Scientist (Biochemistry) at Allergy Therapeutics and Formulation Scientist (Enzyme Immunoassay) at ThermoFisher.
