I am a part-time first year PhD Student at the Open University researching the impact agenda.
Prior to this I have held a number of research related roles in Higher Education, including work around online engagement and social media, research funding and impact. I am a qualified secondary school teacher and have an Msc in Learning and Teaching from Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford.
My PhD examines how UK researchers have responded to the requirement to plan for, enact and report on impact. I am particularly interested in how the impact agenda has affected researchers’ working lives and identities, and how conceptions of impact vary and are disseminated by different Research organisations.
My wider research interests include the nature of participatory research, the interface of politics and education and Higher Education culture and organisation.
I am supervised by Professor Richard Holliman and Dr Toni Gladding.
In addition to teaching on Open University modules our academics are engaged in ground breaking research that benefits individuals and society.
